A torrential rain that fell in the afternoon of this Sunday caused flooding in different parts of the Buenos aires city and the suburbs, as well as the interruption of line B of the subway.
Around 3:00 p.m., the storm intensified and averaged 30 millimeters of water fall in an hour in the Federal Capital, although in some neighborhoods such as Saavedra, Mataderos and Liniers it was much more intense. Until 5:00 p.m., more than 74 millimeters fell.

According to the National Meteorological Service, the yellow alert still applies with rains that will continue until midnight for the City of Buenos Aires, Greater Buenos Aires and La Plata.
The storm caused the interruption of the subway line B
The strong storm caused the interruption of underground line B due to the accumulation of water in certain sections, reported sources from the Metrovías company.
It is, according to sources told Telam, of a security procedure. At the Rosas station, the changing rooms and the signalmen’s engine room were flooded.
Which were the areas most flooded by the storm
The storm caused flooding in different streets and avenues of the city and the surroundings. Some sections of Avenida General Paz, which divides the City from the province of Buenos Aires, were completely flooded, especially at the height of Avenida Beiró, in Villa Devoto.
In dialogue with TNAlberto Carita, head of Civil Defense, said that the rains did not exceed 30 millimeters per hour. “But it is enough for a place that can suffer consequences like Villa Luro, Urquiza, Devoto, Coghlan, the entire line parallel to General Paz ”, he indicated.

Despite the yellow alert, Carita said there were no serious emergencies to attend to. “It is decreasing in all the points that we have as a yellow alert: Soldati, Barrio Miter. We have volunteer firefighters throughout the city and mobiles to attend if there is an emergency ”.
