Las 24 Hours of Buenos Aires It is a competition that has been held since last year, and that seeks to revive those of long duration based on regularity. At TN Autos this year we couldn’t miss it, so we got on a relic on wheels to drive as precisely as possible.
The chosen vehicle was a noble 1971 Peugeot 404, a model that is already in the hearts of Argentines and that was manufactured in the country. In addition, the “cuatro cuatro” boasts a long history of sporting successes, mainly in the 1960s under the command of great pilots such as José Migliore, among others.
With a Le Mans type startin which the drivers run from the sidewalk in front of the main straight to their cars, the TN Autos team set its pace on track 7 of the Juan y Oscar Gálvez racetrack in the city of Buenos Aires.
Vehicles with sedan and coupé bodies, manufactured between 1961 and 2000 inclusive, participate in this competition, so some contemporary classics were also seen. In turn, they are divided into categories by year and by engine size.
Some of the models that were seen to the delight of the fans and ours too! They were from brands like Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Renault, Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benzand many others.
As in the 2021 edition, former pilots participated as José Luis Di Palma, Chiche Caldarella, Juan Carlos Giacchino, Fernando Croceri, Delfina Frers, Omar El Bacha and Gustavo Der Ohanessian.
It is a competition, yes, but whose center is to have a good time with irons and friends, just what we like the most!
Of course, when it came to accelerating, we did it at the dog’s face. Can you imagine how it went for us?
