The tension was escalating until everything got out of control. After the wake for Máximo Jerez, the 11-year-old boy murdered in Rosario, the neighbors went to the house of the man accused of selling drugs in the neighborhood and caused damage.
The father of the boy who died of a shot at dawn on Sunday was the one who most unleashed his fury against the house. With a tumbera weight he knocked down one of the walls.

The police, present at the scene, could not contain the situation and ended up firing rubber bullets. The house of the alleged drug trafficker ended up on fire.

“If you do not do justice, this is going to be worse”, with this warning, the neighbors demanded that the police act to end a situation that they experience daily. “The neighborhood got tired of these people,” they said.
After the destruction, in the midst of the protests over the insecurity crisis that they live on a daily basis, the neighbors waited for the officers to arrest the alleged drug trafficker.
There were stones and runs at the moment in which the defendant was taken from the house, in the middle of the flames. As a result of the incidents, several people were injured.

How was the crime of Máximo Jerez
The crime took place on Sunday morning in the Empalme Graneros neighborhood. Máximo, 11 years old, was at the door of his house with other boys. From one moment to the next, a man started shooting at some people.
Máximo died after being shot in the back while three other boys, two 13-year-olds and a 2-year-old girl, were injured and were taken to the North Zone hospital where they are in reserved condition.
The girl was shot in the arm while one of the adolescents had a bullet impact in the chest for which he underwent emergency surgery and the other has a bullet in the mouth.

In different raids, the police seized weapons with suppressed numbers, a machine gun, silencers and a motorcycle with a request for capture.
“The only thing I ask is that justice be done and everyone knows who are the ones who sell the drugs, take over the houses and spread out,” Antonia, the baby’s aunt, told TN.

The woman stated that the neighborhood is ravaged by crimes related to drug trafficking and that they are tired of similar events happening every day: “We are so tired of being robbed, they killed me; the neighborhood is in mourning, they are all angry,” she said.
The case is being investigated by prosecutor Adrián Spelta, from the Intentional Homicide Unit on duty.
