Alejandro Garnacho set off the alarms this Sunday when he was injured in the match that Manchester United drew 0-0 against Southampton for date number 27 of the Premier League. Once the match was over, the coach of the Red Devils, the Dutchman Erik Ten Hag, gave details of the annoyance with which the Argentine retired.

“He received a bad tackle and sprained his ankle,” explained the DT, who specified that he chose to replace Garnacho with Fred in the last minute of the game so as not to risk it.
In that sense, he stressed: “We were with ten and I wanted to make sure that the players who were on the field were at 100% of their physical shape.”
Garnacho’s situation is worrying in Manchester but also in the Argentine National Team because the young footballer was summoned by coach Lionel Scaloni for the friendlies against Panama and Curaçao that will be played on March 23 and 28, respectively.

The Argentinian jewel came on 72 minutes into the second half for Jadon Sancho and after a few minutes on the court, the striker was brought down by Kyle Walker-Peters. After the action, Garnacho grabbed his right ankle with gestures of great pain. Quickly, he was treated by doctors on the pitch. The player got up, tested the state of his ankle and decided to continue. Shortly after, he requested the change and was replaced by the Brazilian Fred late in the game.
