Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez, protagonists of Tuesday’s Champions League: Manchester City and Inter play

Two interesting Champions League matches will animate the hot Tuesday afternoon in Argentina. Manchester City, with Julián Álvarez, will host Leipzig, while Lautaro Martínez’s Inter will visit Porto, in the second leg of the round of 16. Both matches will be played from 5:00 p.m. on television from ESPN and Fox Sports.

City drew 1-1 in the first leg, in Germany, and has a great chance, at home, to advance to the next round. Inter, for their part, took the 1-0 victory at home and now they will have to defend the result in a hot stadium like the Arena Do Dragao.

The winners of this phase will join the quarterfinals of the “Champions” that already has Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea and Milan classified.

Julián Álvarez could have minutes against Leipzig

With “Araña” Álvarez and probably Máximo Perrone on the substitute bench, the Spanish team led by Josep “Pep” Guardiola will seek to take another step in the most important tournament in Europe.

The former River Plate player had no minutes in Germany but he is a reliable offensive card for Guardiola since in the six games he played he contributed two goals and two assists.

The “Ciudadano” team starts as a favorite since they have won 21 of the last 23 home games in the “Champions”. Their last defeat was in September 2018 against Olympique de Lyon (2-1).

Lautaro Martínez will start at Inter

Lautaro Martínez will start and captain Inter when they visit Porto this afternoon at the Do Dragao stadium. The Argentinian will form the lead together with the Belgian Romelu Lukaku, one of the most powerful in Europe.

It is a key game for the “nerazzurri”, who lost to Spezia (2-1) in Serie A last weekend and fell 18 points behind leader Napoli, with almost no chance for the championship.
