A man was arrested for the crime of Nayla, the 4-year-old girl shot during a shooting on 11-1-14

In the last few hours, a defendant for the murder of Nayla Noamí Torrilla, the 4-year-old girl murdered in Barrio 1-11-14 of Bajo Flores in February 2023, was arrested in Virrey del Pino, La Matanza district.

The detainee was identified as Nahuel Federico Moyano, 25 years old and, according to reports, he has a criminal record. An arrest warrant fell on him for another homicide that occurred in 2021 in the same neighborhood, when Cristian Ezequiel Escobedo was murdered.

The Homicide Division of the Superintendence of Investigations of the City Police participated in the arrest operation, with the collaboration of the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires.

Moyano, is linked to the usurpation of homes in Barrio 1-11-14, the reason for the attack with a firearm that ended Nayla’s life.

Nayla’s crime

Nayla’s crime occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, at the intersection of Calle Bonorino and Calle 10, where, according to witnesses, several shots were fired at occasional passers-by from a gray Renault 19 car.

Nayla Naomí Torrilla was killed with a shot to the chest after being caught in the middle of a shootout where there were at least 32 shots. The event happened in the 11-14 neighborhood of Bajo Flores in Buenos Aires and a 19-year-old girl was also injured in the leg.

According to the sources of the case, the National Gendarmerie personnel stationed in the area issued an alert before the shooting attack and informed the City Police that the shooters’ car had fled in the direction of the neighboring Barrio Presidente Illia.

Meanwhile, the police personnel who were working at the Piñero Hospital reported that two people shot from the area of ​​the attack entered the health center: the first was a 19-year-old girl with a gunshot wound, with entry and exit, in one of his legs and without risk of life. The second was Nayla, a 4-year-old girl who arrived with a shot in the chest region and later died due to the seriousness of the wound.

In the area where the shots were fired, the experts collected a total of 32 9-mm caliber shells.
