A woman was arrested this Monday in Gualeguaychú, after escaping from the Centenario de Entre Ríos hospital when doctors detected that her 3-year-old son had cocaine in his body.
According to police sources, the woman appeared with the minor in her arms and requested urgent help because she had “decomposed”. At that time, he underwent several studies to find a diagnosis.

There they recorded abnormal movements and lack of coordination in the body, which worried the doctors. After a while, the results of the tests arrived, showing the presence of the drug in the baby’s body.
Immediately, they ordered hospitalization for treatment and special protocols for these situations, despite her mother’s opposition. In addition, the professionals notified the Police Departmental Headquarters.
This alerted the woman and during the changing of the guard, about 15 minutes later, she took the minor and fled with the intravenous drip placed in her son’s arm.

Given the situation, police personnel from different divisions began a lockdown and search operation. During the early morning, it was located in the vicinity of Concordia and España streets, in Gualeguaychú.
The Guarantees judge on duty, Ignacio Telenta, ordered the arrest of the woman, who remains at the local Women’s and Minority police station, under an investigation by prosecutor Carolina Costa, the Télam agency reported.
Meanwhile, the boy was quickly transferred to the hospital, where he remains hospitalized in the Pediatric Ward and was left in the care of his grandmother, who also cares for his two older brothers.

The Entre Ríos Police confirmed that the baby had been taken to the hospital on several occasions with pictures of “hyperactivity and nervousness”, and on other occasions he did not attend the assigned shifts, for which mental health and social assistance personnel intervened. .
According to El Diario Sol, the grandparents repeatedly asked for help due to the problematic consumption situation of the mother.
