MasterChef: Blanca Cotta's granddaughter made empanadas, the jury rejected it and the memes exploded

This Monday MasterChef (Telefe) began and the judges of the cycle -Germán Martitegui, Donato de Santis and Damián Betular- got a big surprise when they received Blanca Cotta’s granddaughter as an applicant.

María Alejandra appeared at the audition with an “empanadota” because, as she explained, the recipe reminded her of her grandmother. Asked about the reason why she had to be part of this edition, she replied: “I really want to enter so that my grandmother has the recognition that she did not have when she passed away.”

“My grandmother was Blanca Cotta,” he added to the surprise of the jurors. “White Cotta? I stand up, ”Martitegui launched without being able to believe it. “I’m not her,” warned Alejandra, who added: “Humbly, I come to learn with you so that I can look a little like what she did that was all great.”

Before the participant began cooking, the most feared jury emphasized the alleged lack of recognition: “I want to correct you, your grandmother is highly recognized by the entire gastronomic community and has been a great cook in Argentina. I don’t know how she’s going to do for you, but I want to make that clear.”

The jury tasted María Alejandra’s dish and one by one they gave her back. Finally, by two votes against and one in favor, the participant was not selected to be part of the contest.

“I don’t know if the fact that your grandmother is Blanca Cotta predisposes me to like you in some way. It seems to me that the emotional part of the dish wins. For me it is a yes”, said Germán Martitegui.
