Dani Álves wrote a love note to his ex-wife from jail: what does he say

While waiting for his situation to be defined in prison, Dani Alves wrote a love letter to his ex-wife, Joana Sanz, where he asked her for a “new opportunity”, after she publicly expressed that she would ask for a divorce.

Joana Sanz found out from the press everything that had happened with her ex-husband after he was denounced by a young woman for sexual abuse in a nightclub in the city of Barcelona. From there, the model went through a difficult time and she made the decision to separate from her.

The Spanish press had access to the love note from the Brazilian soccer player and published some of its most important parts.

In the letter, to which the ‘Y ahora Sonsoles’ program had access, the footballer assures that he “regrets” Sanz’s decision to separate after eight years of relationship and “hopes” that life “gives them another opportunity”.

“It was almost eight years of a lot of love, affection, respect and mutual care. In particular, the last few years by your side everything seems easier and more pleasant. You and my children, Dani Filho and Victoria, it was the best thing that happened to me in my life”, the letter begins.

Alves assures that he “understands” the pain caused by “the unfair situation” they are experiencing and “understands” that he has not been able to withstand the pressure. “The facts of which they accuse me are foreign to me and to the values ​​that have guided my life: love, respect and effort”, he asserts.

The former Barça player was arrested on January 20 and the events of which he is accused allegedly took place on December 30 of last year. Since then, he has been in pretrial detention without bail awaiting trial.

“I will continue fighting as I have always done, believing in myself with the support and confidence of those who know who I really am: I will fight until the end with the unconditional love of my children, my parents and those who continue to be by my side, to I will soon prove my innocence to the whole world,” he says in the same letter.

They have been horrible months, not the hardest of my life because I have faced many storms, but very dark and painful.

Sanz explained the disappointment he felt when he found out what his partner had done: “I chose a person who was perfect in my eyes as a life partner. He was always there when I needed him the most, he always supported me in everything, he always encouraged me to grow, always affectionate, attentive… It’s so hard for me to accept that this person could break me into a thousand pieces.

Regarding the accompaniment of Dani Alves, who is locked up in a Barcelona prison, she was clear: “I am so human that despite the damage he has caused me, I am still here by his side. I continue and will continue to be, but in another way. I love him and I will always love him, whoever says that love is forgotten is deceiving himself or did not really love. But I love myself, I respect myself and I value myself much more.”
