María Eugenia Vidal and Quique Sacco were married in the Civil Registry on Uruguay street on Thursday at noon. After more than four years as a couple, the former governor of Buenos Aires and the sports journalist decided to take the big step surrounded by their relatives.

This Saturday the brand new couple will celebrate their union with an intimate celebration that will be attended by various political exponents, including Mauricio Macri and Horacio Rodríguez Larreta. Also on the exclusive list are Carolina Stanley, Alex Campbell, Cristian Ritondo and Emmanuel Ferrario.

The ceremony, which has less than 100 guests, takes place at Estancia El Rosario in San Antonio de Areco. The space has available a restaurant, a swimming pool and a hotel.

It is a very austere and relaxed event. For this, the couple chose to avoid the tables and chose an environment where attendees can sit in armchairs, living room style. Although during the civil wedding Vidal chose to wear a very simple long white dress, at today’s event he would have chosen a design by Gabriel Lage.

How María Eugenia Vidal and Quique Sacco met

María Eugenia Vidal and Quique Sacco met in 2019 on the Mirtha Legrand program. At that time, she was in the middle of the campaign for PASO 2019, while he had suffered the loss of his ex-partner, the journalist Débora Pérez Volpin.

When the program ended, María Eugenia approached Enrique and told him that he could count on her for whatever he needed. After exchanging her phone numbers, they began to chat more and more regularly. Some time later, they themselves would tell that these exchanges would lead them to have their first date a month later.

“He said nice things to me and ended with ‘I’ll leave you a goodnight kiss.’ For me it was a sad night… And then someone appeared to take care of me. It is that Quique is a good person and it is easy to love ”, Vidal related later, in dialogue with Juana Viale. “No one comes to Mirtha’s program thinking that she is going to find a boyfriend,” he added with a laugh.

For his part, Quique explained that his presence on Mirtha’s program was related to Débora’s death, since he had attended to share the news of the trial for the death of the journalist. Relieved by the ruling, he commented: “I feel that life gave me a new opportunity with María Eugenia.”
