Pedro Monzón knows about the delicate situation that Independiente is experiencing and for this reason, once again, he made himself available to the club that he loves so much. El Moncho, who took over the team as an interim, made his debut with a win in the Argentine Cup and stuck out his chest to continue leading the team in case the leadership cannot get a main coach.
In statements to the press after the victory against Bolivar, Monzón made it clear that he would accept the challenge of being Rojo’s coach, although he put a condition in case the results were not given: “I would not like that later I cannot return to the lower ones or the reserve and be left without a job ”.

“I’m available to the club, but first of all, the coaches know that when the ball doesn’t go in, you’re out, and I want to continue working at Independiente,” said the former defender.

Monzón, champion of the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental in 1984 with José Omar Pastoriza’s team, already served as a “firefighter” in Independiente at the end of the 2004 season and was also an assistant to Julio César Falcioni in the last part of the management of Hugo Moyano.
Independiente hadn’t won a game since January 28, when it made its Professional League debut with a 1-0 win against Talleres. Since then, they have accumulated five draws and two losses.

The leadership of Independiente is looking for Ricardo Zielinski
Despite the fact that he did not have a good time at Nacional de Montivideo, where he only directed eight games and was fired, Ricardo Zielinski is the coach appointed by the Independiente leadership, who has already contacted his representative to offer him the position of DT. The Russian itches in point to direct the Red, after the refusal of Pablo Guede.
