Cristiano Ronaldo’s INVALUABLE gesture with those affected by the earthquake in Morocco

After the earthquake that shook Morocco on Friday night, displays of solidarity from the world of sports multiplied. While the players of that country’s national team led a blood donation campaign for the injured, the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo made one of his hotels available to house those affected.

International agencies reported that the Saudi Arabian Al Nassr footballer opened the doors of the Pestana CR7 Marrakech, a four-star establishment that became a kind of refuge.

“We have managed to get them to give us a room. We slept all night on the street and at seven in the morning they told us yes, we could come closer. “We are in a lobby with a lot of people of different nationalities,” said one of the people who was able to access the hotel.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the owner of a hotel chain that has establishments in cities such as Madrid, New York, Lisbon, Funchal and Manchester.

“My deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the earthquake in Morocco. I send my love and prayers to everyone in Morocco in these difficult times,” the Portuguese wrote in a story that he published on his Instagram account, next to the flag of the African country.

What happened in Morocco?

On Friday night, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook Morocco, causing more than two thousand deaths and hundreds of injuries. It was the deadliest since 2004.

It also destroyed buildings and forced residents of major cities to abandon their homes.
