That common thread is the union caste that mobilized all these gentlemen who have put in the plaza to receive this check that will be paid by the Argentine people with blood, sweat and tears, enduring hyperinflation. It is that union caste that is in the plaza and is already negotiating with those who want to come and govern Argentina.”

The project of changes in the Income Tax promoted by the Minister of Economy and presidential candidate of Unión por la Patria, Sergio Massa, creates a new income tax based on the equivalent of 15 minimum, vital and mobile salaries (SMVM) per month (currently equivalent to $1,770,000) with a progressive rate on the surplus that goes from 27% to 35% and is updated with the value of the SMVM twice a year.
The determination of the tax is carried out in accordance with the following mechanism: at the beginning of the fiscal period, the value of the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage (SMVM) in force on January 1 of that year is considered, which will be updated on January 1 July of each fiscal year, considering the value of the SMVM in force on that new date.
In this way, only 88,000 taxpayers will pay the Income Tax, which represents less than 1% of total salaries, retirements and pensions. Through the initiative, the tax is sought to fall only “on the highest incomes in a dependency relationship and on the other aforementioned incomes.”

It will be a tense day in Deputies. At the urging of the Frente de Todos and the help of allies, the Lower House will meet this Tuesday from 1 p.m. to discuss Sergio Massa’s project that virtually eliminates the payment of Income Tax for the majority of workers starting next year.
Hard clashes are expected between the ruling party and the opposition, which accuses the minister and candidate – who could be present at the venue – of leaving a bomb for the next Government and the ground ready for hyperinflation, due to an electoral measure.
