The profound words with which Marcelo Polino remembered the story of Anabel Sánchez made her emotional to the point of not being able to contain her tears on her debut in the competition. “Beyond rescuing the video you made in Vogue, I was able to talk to you and I can say that this girl is a survivor,” the journalist told her that she is part of the jury of Bailando 2023 (América) hosted by Marcelo Tinelli.
The model who managed to get from the Buenos Aires suburbs to a casting in Vogue, has a harsh family reality behind her. “They have fled their home with their mother and siblings, fleeing from a beating father, with neighbors who have had to guard the door so that this man does not try to kill them again,” Polino explained.

In this way, Sánchez’s great debut on the dance floor at Bailando 2023 was accompanied by an emotional moment that moved the public. “Many needs have happened, so it seems to me that beyond the video, you represent the youth of the country who want to get ahead, who want to help their family and it seems to me that it has enormous value that you tell it,” said the jury.
Anabel Sánchez, the model from San Francisco Solano, carries a tough family history on her back.

“Don’t be ashamed to tell it because you inspire other people, because you are a survivor, so I am honored to have you here on the track. You are an example for an entire generation because you are 18 years old, a generation of kids your age who are lost, who don’t know where to go, who are leaving the country, who don’t have anything to eat, and you are standing here, and it seems to me “You are a lighthouse for those people,” Polino closed, while the camera focused on her incipient tears.
The violent home from which Anabel Sánchez managed to escape
Upon hearing Polino’s return, the model began to cry. However, he managed to recover. “The truth is that it was difficult for us to go out, because having a person who tells you every day from the moment you get up until you go to sleep that you can’t do it, that you are nobody; And many times one believes that, but the truth is that I don’t know where that strength came from, but it is thanks to my mother,” Anabel recalled.

“She told us ‘You always have to be able to, no matter who comes and tells you that you can’t.’ And at first it is obviously difficult because you enter that state of victim, but no one hurts you. It’s up to everyone how strong they become. And I got ahead, and I know that it is possible and I tell the boys who follow me that dreams come true,” concluded the model.
