A little more than a month before the general elections, the president of the Supreme Court, Horacio Rosatti, once again warned that “if dollarization eliminates the Argentine currency it is unconstitutional.” Precisely that is the main proposal of the candidate for the Executive of La Libertad Avanza and winner of the PASO, Javier Milei.
Rosatti said, when asked whether an eventual elimination of the peso would be unconstitutional: “What is the currency of a country? The one that emits: it can be peso or patacón or whatever. If dollarization eliminates the Argentine currency it is unconstitutional. “If I abandon one currency and go entirely to the other, it is a path that, for me, is unconstitutional.”

The president of the Court stated that “when one says dollarization, one should be a little more precise and say: ‘What do you mean by this?’” in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.
