Hours after it became known that Billy Miller, one of the best-known actors in the United States soap opera universe, died at the age of 43, it was learned how the unfortunate outcome occurred.
The mother of the heartthrob who had become famous after appearing on the casts of The Young and the Restless and General Hospital wrote a letter on her networks in which she revealed that her son committed suicide.

“Billy fought a long, hard, brave battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. “He loved his family, his friends and his fans, but in the end the disease won the fight and he gave up his life,” wrote Patricia Miller, in a letter dedicated to all fans.

The woman expressed that “the other causes of death reported are not true,” in reference to an alleged overdose, a hypothesis that was considered in the first hours of hearing the news.
“I wish they were but they just aren’t. We all love him very much and are desperately trying to come to terms with our loss. Thank you for the love and support,” she closed. The actor made the decision shortly before his birthday, which would have been September 17.

Billy Miller was known for his roles on several soap operas, starting with All My Children in 2007. He then starred on The Young and the Restless from 2008 to 2014, a show for which he won three Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Billy Abbott.
He later joined General Hospital in which he unusually played two roles: first he was Jake Doe and then he played Drew Cain, the twin of one of the main characters, for two seasons before leaving the soap opera in 2019.
Miller’s credits also include the series Suits and Truth Be Told, Ray Donovan, NCIS, The Rookie and the Oscar-nominated film American Sniper.

Several of the actor’s former castmates tweeted over the weekend to share their grief over MIller’s unexpected death.
“My heart goes out to him and to all those who love him: he was loved by many. Warm, kind, incredibly talented. A big hug to the family. Rest in peace and happy heavenly birthday Billy,” wrote Risa Dorken, one of his colleagues on the soap opera General Hospital.

The executive producer of that show, Frank Valentini, also expressed his shock at what happened to the actor. “I am devastated to hear the news of the passing of the incredibly talented Billy Miller. “On behalf of the entire General Hospital family, our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time,” he said.
