Juan Román Riquelme is looking to expand the Bombonera, but to do so it is necessary to buy the two half blocks bordering the stadium in order to build the fourth stand. “It shocks me a little to hit someone's door to make them leave their house,” Román had said on Friday in an interview with ESPN last Friday. However, that day arrived and there was a response to the statements of the president of Xeneize.

The response came through the Slovenian Project's social media post. “What no one has ever done before with the residents of La Bombonera (crossed Iberlucea Street, rang the bell, introduced themselves, listened, respected, integrated…and they all sell,” says the message on their official Twitter account.

What Juan Román Riquelme said about the expansion of the Bombonera
“We dream of the field being bigger and having more people enter. But in my house they taught me that you don't have to promise something when you need help from your neighbors. It shocks me to have to go knock on someone's door and tell them if they want to leave their house,” said Juan Román Riquelme in relation to the situation at La Bombonera and what Boca can do.

Juan Román Riquelme explained that the ideal would be to be able to expand the stadium there and buy the neighbors' block that overlooks the La Bombonera boxes, but the president of Boca has not yet defined how they will do it.
“It bothers me to have to say to a lady or gentleman: 'Do you want to leave here?' I am no one to tell someone that they have to leave their house and those people have the right to take it that way,” Riquelme explained when asked about moving the neighborhood fans.
How many neighbors have to sell their house for Boca to expand La Bombonera?
“There are 67 owners included in 23 lots. Fronts and first and second lines of lots that are needed for the Slovenian Plus. As for 360 Ameal, they never spoke to the neighbors on their behalf,” said Rubén Lopresti, a reference for the neighbors.

And, in that sense, Lopresti explained: “The neighbors sell, I am waiting for Riquelme with a barbecue at his disposal. “It is more important to expand the Bombonera than to win a Libertadores.”
