This morning a group of criminals intercepted Leonardo Quinteros and shot him to steal his truck. The victim died at the scene and the assailants escaped in his vehicle. Until now they have not been identified.
The tragic episode occurred during the early hours of this Wednesday at the intersection of Olaya and Otamendi streets, in the Buenos Aires town of Pontevedra, Merlo district. Quinteros was outside his house, preparing his truck to go on vacation to San Bernardo when he was surprised by the criminals.

Who was Leonardo Quinteros, the businessman murdered when he left his house to go on vacation
Leonardo was 49 years old and owned a refrigerator in Rafael Castillo, La Matanza district. He had four children and at the time of the assault he was about to go on vacation to La Costa with his family.
His partner was the one who heard two shots and went out to help him, but it was too late: the man was seriously injured and died at the scene.

Damián, a friend and employee of the victim, remembered her with deep regret: “He was a hard-working guy, who gave work to the entire neighborhood, he did nothing but work.”
In addition, he stated that he had about 40 employees and that “he had already suffered some thefts in recent years.” In the same sense, he highlighted that he did not usually go on vacation and was going to do so after many years. “I lived working,” he added in dialogue with TN.
What was the crime of the murdered businessman in Merlo like?
Shortly before the attack, Quinteros had left a voice message for his nephew, with whom he worked in his business, to let him know that he had forgotten a key to his house in the business. It is believed that after that communication he was ambushed.

The victim's partner heard two gunshots and when she came out she found him lying on the floor, seriously injured. Unfortunately shortly after he passed away.
So far the van has not appeared and the criminals are being intensively searched. The case is in the hands of prosecutor Pablo Masferrer of Morón Prosecutor's Office No. 2.
