The National Meteorological Service (SMN) of Argentina issued a yellow alert for this Thursday, February 1, warning of severe storms in Catamarca, Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán, La Pampa, La Rioja, and rains in Santa Cruz.

Alerts from the National Meteorological Service are classified into:
Red level: this is when exceptional meteorological phenomena with the potential to cause emergencies or disasters are expected.
Orange level: dangerous weather events are expected for society, life, property and the environment.
Yellow level: there will be meteorological phenomena with the potential for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities.
Green level: no meteorological phenomena that imply risks are expected.
