The famous model presented a new musical chapter with a version of “Sunglasses at Night”, the remembered Corey Heart song from 1983, which was produced by Tiësto. The Dutch DJ, music producer and Grammy winner gave the famous new wave song his mark with an electronic and danceable update. It is also the theme song for the upcoming season of Germany's Next Topmodel.
“I had the idea of covering this famous song in the '80s since it marked my youth. It was always spinning around in my head. Suddenly the spark appeared and I decided to record it. She sang it in the shower and I said 'it would be great to record it,'” she described in an interview with La Viola, a few days before the premiere.
Regarding Tiësto's participation, the German model highlighted: “We are very friends and I admire his work. I thought it would be good to add it to the project. I told him about it and he thought it was a very good idea. I recorded my voice and sent it to him so he can produce it.”
In addition, he assured that he always listened to the DJ: “I have four children. Now they are 19, 18, 17 and 14 years old, but for many years I went dancing and enjoyed their songs. He is like a God in his own thing. Is incredible”.

She was romantically linked to Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis and was married to British artist Seal. Currently, she is in a relationship with Tom Kaulitz, a member of the German band Tokio Hotel. Also, Heidi appeared in Jamiroquai's “Love Foolosophy” video, and in Australian singer Sia's “Fire Meet Gasoline.”
-What do you feel your version of “Sunglasses at Night” expresses?
-You spend the whole night at a party with your makeup on and it runs off. That's why it's always good to have good sunglasses. Some people find it great to wear them when they go to clubs because they might have more freedom to dance. There are many people who are shy and glasses can be their protective shield that they can hide behind.
-The song will be on the program Germany's Next Topmodel…
-Yes, I have this cycle that is about new, talented and beautiful models. I thought it would be fun to have it be the theme song for the new season. It has an important audience and it is good that the new models appear in the opening video of each of the episodes. I am going to have male models for the first time. I did a casting to choose those who were going to be in the clip and it is very special for them.
-Do you plan to release an album with new songs?
-Not right now. It's the same thing that happened with Snoop Dogg a few years ago when we released a song. It was fun. I've known him for a long time and my husband wrote that song. I was very lucky to have these ideas come true. I'm not planning a completely new career in my life, but I also think it's fun that when you have a project and the opportunity appears to be able to do it. Gone are the days when you could only do one thing in your life. I think we are multifaceted. There are different ideas and passions that we have as people. I think it's good to do what you like and try different things. We only live once.
-What are your musical influences?
-I listen to Tokio Hotel a lot, because that is the band my husband is in and has had for many years. I listen to a lot of his music and, especially now, he's writing new songs and trying out some things in the studio. I like a variety of styles. I like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. I love hip hop, but I also like classical or pop music. I still listen to the classics from the '80s and '90s. I feel like people also like to repeat and reissue a lot of the old hits, because it has something of a memory. And I think it's a little sentimental that a lot of people listen to old music again, but then make it new with today's sounds.
Heidi Klum and her successful modeling career
Her name began to be heard loudly in the late '90s, when she walked for Victoria's Secret. She was the cover of important magazines such as Elle, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or for the German and French editions of Vogue magazine. In December 2004, she began producing the reality show Project Runway on the Bravo television channel.
When leaving a message to those who want to dedicate themselves to modeling, Klum highlighted: “I think it is always important to follow your dream. They criticized me many times. People said you couldn't be a model because you were too curvy or that you had to lose weight. 'We should cut your hair or you're too happy' were some of the comments. And at the end of the day, you always have to think about your beliefs; in what your instinct tells you.”

“So when people told me, 'You have to do this or that,' I thought, 'This doesn't seem right to me. I feel like I feel good where I am.' I eat normally and exercise a little. You have to know what is right and what is wrong. And you should never give up on your dreams, whatever they may be,” she concluded.
