On Friday night, the United States carried out an attack with bombers and missiles on 85 pro-Iranian militia targets in Syria and Iraq. It was in response to the death of three American soldiers last Sunday at a base in Jordan due to a drone attack.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the conflict, reported that at least 16 pro-Iran fighters were killed in the attacks in eastern Syria. It is estimated that there are at least 25 injured, and the number may increase.
