This Sunday, FIFA announced the complete schedule of matches for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held jointly between the United States, Mexico and Canada. At the event it was announced that the Azteca stadium in the Federal District will host the opening match on June 11, in which the local team will play, while the venue for the grand final will be the MetLife Stadium in New York. The match for third place, meanwhile, will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The world football governing body announced the complete schedule and the distribution by city of the 104 matches that the tournament will have, which, for the first time, will feature the participation of 48 teams.

At the moment, the only three teams qualified for the World Cup are the hosts: the United States – will debut on June 12 in Los Angeles -, Mexico – will make its presentation in the opening match – and Canada, which will also play its first match on June 12. June in Toronto.
This will be the third World Cup that Mexico will organize after the 1970 and 1986 editions. For the United States, meanwhile, it will be the second after the 1994 experience. Canada, meanwhile, will debut as host.
The final of the 1994 United States World Cup was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, a stadium that is not among the venues for the next edition.
The venues chosen for the 2026 World Cup
United States: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles (SoFi Stadium), Miami, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco and Seattle.
Mexico: Mexico City (Azteca Stadium), Guadalajara (Akron Stadium) and Monterrey (BBVA Stadium).
Canada: Toronto and Vancouver.
