A Chilean tourist died this morning after falling from the second floor of a cabin complex in the Mendoza city of Luján de Cuyo.
The victim was identified as Ricardo Alberto Gallo Castañeda, 67 years old. After the tragic accident, the conditions of the place and whether it was well signposted were being investigated.

The tragic accident occurred in the Quinta Palma Cabañas & Eventos complex, located at 3070 Cobos Street, in Perdriel, an area dedicated to wine tourism with many nearby wineries of recognized prestige. Gallo Castañeda was staying there with a soccer team.
According to official sources, around 3:40 a.m. the man went up to the second floor with the intention of going to the bathroom area. However, in the middle of the darkness, he became confused, opened a balcony door that led into the void and fell.

After the noise that caused the fall and despair, the hotel managers called the ambulance immediately. In any case, the emergency service doctor confirmed that he had died instantly due to the severity of his injuries.
Then a group of officers from the 48th Police Station arrived to interview the deceased's companions, who recounted the tragic event and gave details of what happened.
In parallel, judicial proceedings were initiated by Fiscal Office No. 11, which seek to determine if the complex had that door properly closed or if there was negligence on the part of the cabin authorities to warn about the dangers in that sector. .

Two months earlier, a 43-year-old Brazilian traveler suffered serious injuries after falling five meters from the terrace of a renowned winery located in the same Mendoza department of Luján de Cuyo. The man underwent intensive care with head trauma and rib fractures.
The tragic episode occurred at the end of August when the man – identified as Antonio Álvez – was carrying out a wine tasting at the Catena Zapata winery. It was there that the victim fell from a considerable height, violently impacted the floor and immediately lost consciousness.
