They arrested an Argentine accused of murdering a German businessman in Brazil. It all happened after an argument between the two. Before leaving the scene, the suspect locked the victim in the house and set it on fire.
The dramatic episode occurred in the spa city of Penha, in the north of the state of Santa Catarina, according to local police. The accused was identified as Juan Ramírez, a person who was homeless.

According to what was reported by the researchers, Dietmar Frenkle, 64, was an industrial management consultant and had long resided in the neighboring country. The witnesses who gave statements to the Civil Police indicated that he often argued with the aggressor.
It was in the middle of another fight between the two that Ramírez locked the businessman inside a wooden house and later set it on fire.

After that, according to local media SCC10, the Argentine was arrested and transferred to the Itajaí Regional Prison, in the Canhadatuba neighborhood.
Commissioner Rafael Lorencetti pointed out that Ramírez will be charged with the crime of homicide classified as cruelty for making it impossible for the victim to have any possibility of defending himself.

In addition, he reported that he caused damage to the police station vehicle and that it broke down when he was asked about an alleged argument he had had with the murdered German citizen.

Lorencetti added that in the middle of the investigation they discovered that the victim had been locked up and had no way to escape, a situation that complicated the defendant. “During the inspection we saw that the padlock was closed from the outside,” he explained.
He even added that the body showed no signs of violence. In any case, they are still waiting for the forensic autopsy. The house in which Frenkle was trapped was completely consumed by fire and only a few structures remained in the place.

The German was known for participating in social projects aimed at the population in vulnerable situations in the northern region of Santa Catarina, the commissioner reported during the press conference.
