Today marks 12 years since the death of Luis Alberto Spinetta. The musician died at the age of 62 due to lung cancer and, to honor him, his son Dante remembered him through social networks.
The Illya Kuryaki guitarist and singer had a close bond with his father and on several occasions spoke about how music and values united them. He even wrote a song in tribute to him: “Yellow Eagle.”

This Thursday, Vida Spinetta's father posted a portrait of his father, in which he is seen with the guitar hanging on his shoulder. He didn't write anything, he just added a heart emoji.

On the other hand, on January 23, on the occasion of El Flaco's birth, Dante had published photos of the leader of Almendra in his youth. “Happy Birthday Dad! “King of music and mystique, I always miss you,” he wrote, recognizing the legacy of his mother.
Dante revealed his father's last words
Months ago, Dante Spinetta gave an interview to the Escuela de Nada podcast and among the topics he addressed, he was encouraged to talk about his father and what his last days were like and the conversations they had.
“The last days before he left we didn't talk about the money in the bank or the hits or the awards. We talked about the smiles, the beautiful moments, the music. “That is fortune, the love of things,” she said.

From a distance, as a musician and father, the former Illya Kuryaki explained how those words impacted his vision of life: “Money comes and goes. We all like to live well and everything, but I also prefer to maintain that balance, cultivate what really makes me good and be able to have a little less money. But I'm happy like this, I go to sleep and I'm happy with who I am, with what I'm building, with how my children think.”
To close his message, which leaves the material in the background and values affections and experiences, he stated: “For me, that is fortune, family, friends, memories, the things that matter. That's why you have to surround yourself with cool people, real friends.”
