The governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, criticized the Government after the removal of transportation subsidies and called for the unity of the governors in the face of the latest measures taken by Javier Milei, whom he questioned for having “behavior inappropriate” for a president and “unpleasant” expressions in his communications.
“We governors must take this with the corresponding concern,” considered Quintela.

In dialogue with El Destape Radio, Quintela stressed that Milei “was chosen with a lot of hope to be able to get out of the situation we are in. But he continues to deepen that situation.” Furthermore, he maintained that it will be difficult to recompose said body since “he is not in his healthy balance, he is not on axis” and asked that “he has to have a different attitude” since “he has to know that he represents an entire people.” ”.
Quintela then called on the governors to unite in the face of the Government's economic measures: “We have to act responsibly, we have to get together to dialogue, to talk. “We have to take the appropriate attitude and fundamentally recover people's hope.”

After the failure of the Omnibus Law, the Government eliminated the Interior Compensation Fund and left the decision of whether or not to subsidize transportation rates in the hands of the leaders. In that sense, the governor of La Rioja announced that he presented “a self-satisfactory measure” to the Court and recalled when the president stated that “the elimination of subsidies was going to be accompanied by an honesty of salaries.”
On the other hand, Quintela listed the main measures that harmed the workers' economy from his perspective: the devaluation of the currency, the increase in fuel, the brake on public works, the liberalization of prices of the basic basket and the freezing of salaries.

In this sense, he pointed out that “the caste is not suffering, what is suffering is the absolute majority of the Argentine people” referring to the fact that the Government's measures until now “harmed the working class, retirees, students, ordinary citizens and the vulnerable sectors. In turn, he anticipated that an impeachment trial could begin against the President, since “the country cannot be in the hands of a person with those characteristics.”

During his trip to Rome, Milei expressed a strong warning in which he stressed that he is not going to “continue playing the same impoverishing game of the usual politicians” and assured that from now on there will be a “change of rules” in Argentina. In this way, he sentenced those who oppose his government: “You will have to choose which side you are on,” he wrote in his X account.
This was reflected in the last hours, when the leader of La Libertad Avanza asked for the resignation of Osvaldo Giordano, head of Anses, and Flavia Royon, in charge of the National Mining Secretariat.
On the other hand, Quintela gave his opinion on the possibility of a new political agreement between the Government and the PRO and anticipated that “it is inevitably going to happen because it is showing that it had no program or government team. They have no answer. They do not know what to do”.
In this context, the Riojan president maintained that the governors must agree to be alert to the advance of a “destructive” system and that the return of a federal system should be discussed.

Finally, he insisted on union as the only alternative: “We can set the course for the President. He can't do what he wants, he has to do what he should do and what is right. He has a tolerance limit.”
