“A thief is born, not made,” was the motto of the Monzón brothers, a gang of dangerous motorcycle gangs that kept the city of La Plata in suspense. Armed robberies and break-ins are some of the 20 causes that add up between the two. The police had them in their sights and they fell after publishing the stolen things on social networks.
These are Tobías and Antón Monzón, brothers of “El rudo”, the young man who took his life in January and the one whose relatives said goodbye to them with a tumbero wake. At that funeral there were riots and several attendees were arrested. However, the motochorros, who were on the run at the time, managed to leave before the police arrived.

Two weeks later, after an investigation carried out by UFI No. 17 of La Plata, officers from the 9th police station raided two houses where they discovered that they were hiding. In that operation they managed to arrest Tobías, the minor.

The young man is 20 years old and in his criminal history he has accumulated seven acts of aggravated robbery committed during 2023. The last time he robbed and was recorded by a camera was on January 20, when he assaulted a motorcyclist.
The criminal was found at a home in Berisso on January 25. They got there by locating his outrageous social media posts. “We are for war,” said one of Tobías' stories, where he showed at least five pistols with which he possibly went out to rob.

After Tobías was arrested, his brother Antón continued stealing and even mocked the officers of the 9th police station who could not stop him on that occasion. “Almost almost haha, stay excited! 1 to 0 hahaha” (sic), the thief wrote on Instagram.

In other even more outrageous images, the criminal showed wads of dollars, Argentine peso bills, many weapons and a message again for the police: “For the ortivas of the Novena. Send it to them. Caps, they never counted a million.”
Finally, in the last few hours the troops were able to find out where Antón was hiding, who has 13 cases against him for aggravated robbery and armed robberies. He was in a house on 528 between 140 and 141 in La Plata.
This is how Antón Monzón was detained.
“Antón is the leader of the gang and the most dangerous criminal, who carried out violent break-ins and robberies throughout La Plata and also in the city of Berisso,” a source in the investigation told TN. “Today the full weight of the law fell on him. For us and our neighbors, so that they can live in peace,” they added.
